During the reporting period we have found out the interest of many universities and regular phone call from Various University to hold and conduct Chevening Scholarship information session in their universities. After a successful session in Afghanistan Centre at Kabul University (ACKU).We have visited Mashal University and met Dr.Mohammad Qasim Taj (Chancellor) and Dr.Mehran (Vice Chancellor) on Thursday 22^nd of September 2016. After a brief discussion regarding the Chevening Scholarship programs, we have decided to hold an information session on Tuesday 27^th of September 2016 in Mashal University hall. SAHERO aims to Encourage and motivate Female Post Graduate Students to participate fully and actively in the Chevening Scholarship sessions which is a very good sign for their better future. As a matter of fact that, Chevening Scholarship is the UK government global scholarship program in 160 countries. So, it is really great to see afghan students meeting the 46000 Chevening Alumni that is why SAHERO encourages more students to apply and to be benefited from this great opportunity. During this information session both male and female students have fully and activity participated and shown great interest in this scholarship program. They were really keen and found of criteria of Chevening Scholarship program and we really motivated young female intellectuals to be a future leader and great influencers for Afghanistan. You can see a massive number of students have participated in this session and they were welling to be future Chevening Alumni. The opening of the Chevening Scholarship information session was done by the Mashal University Vice Chancellor and he really appreciated and thanked the SAHERO team for conducting the information session. He has added that as British Embassy is a helping hand to promote afghan civil society and creating opportunities for young intellectuals to obtain one year Master degree in of the world class universities of UK. Of course, the future of Afghanistan is in the hands of well qualified male and females, and Chevening Scholarship Program will give students master title of Chevening Alumni. He thanked the UK Government for their efforts and struggles for the sustainability of Afghanistan, and I am sure that these Future Chevening Scholarship will break the laws that does not make any sense and will ultimately create new ones to change the game. Dr.Taj has appreciated the work of SAHERO and a warmed welcome Chevening scholarship program and encourage the students to apply and to be benefited from this indispensable opportunity and he assured the students by returning back to Afghanistan after completion of your Master Degree  you will have prominent positions in your country. And he hope that we will have many other information session in the coming days. Chevening Scholarship is more than a Scholarship, because UK has diversity of culture and tradition, he insisted on students to build lasting relationships with UK. He added that Chevening is an outstanding program for afghan students and we are very lucky that we are a citizen of Chevening eligible country. Dr.Taj Introduced SAHRO staff and appreciated the work of SAHERO regarding Chevening Scholarship program. We will have close coordination and collaboration regarding the Scholarship programs in the future. He requested to increase the number of scholarships to afghan students for the next coming years. As always the agenda is designed in such a way that we have a Presentation regarding   Chevening Scholarship information session which is presented by SAHERO team and the last session is for Question and Answer and open discussion. The director of Social Awareness and Humanitarian Resource Organization has answered all questioned raised by the audience regarding the application Process or Chevening Scholarship. The interest of the students showed that majority of them were willing to apply and to be benefited from this outstanding opportunity.in the presentation we have clearly explained that still we have time to apply because the applications are still open till 8 November 2016.we really encourage the undergraduate degree holders to apply for master degree in UK best universities.as Chevening aim is  at future leaders and to have prominent positions in ministries ,embassies ,and both national and international organizations. Based on scholarship, it is fact and fact has no challenge that it direct links to students ,neither to diplomats nor to politicians , it is merely to students who fulfill all the requirements of Chevening Scholarship program. However, the accountability of the program is only on merit base and completing of requirements and to have at least one unconditional offer for at least one their three course choices and must have met Cheveing’s English language requirements.
